Feeling broody

Bantams are crafty as a rule and often hide their eggs in strange places. This mound of eggs was hiding in an old drawer tucked underneath the seed table behind a bolt of row cover. It looks like the work of both hens but only Mrs. White into setting right now. Mrs. Brown appears quite happy to leave her eggs and go running off to play in the dirt. Sadly for Mrs. White nothing will come of her efforts as the rooster (Mr. Fancy-pants) hasn't been living with these girls. If Mrs. White persists there may be a conjugal visit in the near future. (Mr. Fancy-pants was previously banned for bad behavior.)

Here's hoping for no more snow.

*** Made these the other day. Mom and I ate them so fast I forget to take a picture. Absolutely yummy!
